What you’ll do

As a Python Developer, you will play a crucial role in building a new platform for our short-term trading asset scheduling models. Utilizing Python, you will enhance the value of Eneco’s diverse asset portfolio, which includes e-boilers, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, heat grids, Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGTs), batteries, wind turbines, and solar panels across multiple energy markets. You will work within a cross-functional product team, creating scalable and high-quality software using a modern technological stack such as Python, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Kafka, among others. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable backend applications from inception. 
  • Optimize energy asset dispatch through mathematical modeling (Gurobi).
  • Drive innovation and enhancements within our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform.
  • Ensure production systems perform at high efficiency, with robust security and maintainability.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in Python and cloud technologies. 

Is this about you?

  • Demonstrated expertise in Python, Kubernetes, and Azure. 
  • Strong comprehension of containerization, microservices, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes (Azure DevOps). 
  • Experience with mathematical optimization (Gurobi is highly advantageous). 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams alongside developers, testers, and product managers. 
  • Residency in the Netherlands and fluency in English. 

    Bonus points for 

  • Background in trading, energy markets, or optimization models. 
  • Proficiency in data science/engineering. 
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (Vue.js). 
  • Familiarity with .NET/C#.

You will join Eneco’s Python tech team within Ops&IT and be part of the larger Eneco backend developer community. Together, we establish backend standards and contribute to the advancement of a sustainable energy system.

Gross annual salary between €80.000 and €110.000
