Get creative and experiment with different IoT tools and solutions
Build a future proof Asset Connectivity Platform at the heart of our sustainable energy business
Directly contribute to the energy transition by helping us optimally utilize and steer renewable energy sources
At Eneco, everything revolves around innovation in sustainable energy and advanced IT solutions, where you can play a crucial role in achieving climate neutrality by 2035. With us, you contribute to environmentally friendly energy solutions within the innovative Asset Operations department. The introduction of IoT, starting with smart heat meters, has revolutionized the optimization of energy assets, ranging from heat networks to wind and solar parks. In this, you get an active role in creating a more sustainable energy system for the future.
A good example of what you will work on is the project for Rijkswaterstaat. The question was how we can reduce the ecological impact of a wind farm. For example, by protecting migratory birds that die from a collision with a wind turbine blade. It soon became clear that we could reuse an existing IoT solution for this. A radar that detects flying objects uses the same communication protocols. We then connected the radar to our data platform alongside the wind farm controller. Now we can shut down the turbines when there are birds nearby.
In your role as a IoT DevOps engineer, your tasks and responsibilities are clearly delineated to ensure the efficient operation and continuous improvement of our Asset Connectivity Platform. This platform plays a pivotal role in monitoring and steering sustainable energy assets like wind and solar farms, batteries, and energy users. Your main tasks are:
