Lead Network Architect

As our Lead Network Architect, you’ll design, build, and elevate the infrastructure that powers this transformation. You’ll shape strategy, drive execution, and collaborate across domains — from real-time energy trading platforms to autonomous field operations and digital-first customer services.

You’re the kind of architect who sees complexity as a challenge, not a blocker. You bring structure where others see chaos. You lead without ego and communicate with clarity. You see networks not just as systems, but as enablers of impact. You don't just do the architecture. You shape it, own it, and elevate it. 

You bring:

• A degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or comparable hands-on experience
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Expert, or similar
• A strong track record designing and scaling enterprise networks
• Deep expertise in SD-WAN, SASE, Zero Trust, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure
• Fluency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls 
• Familiarity with network automation (Python, PowerShell) and monitoring tools
• Confidence in advising both engineering teams and C-level stakeholders

Architecting resilient, intelligent hybrid networks covering on-prem, Azure cloud, edge locations, and remote sites — all built for scale, performance, and reliability. 

• Connecting over 4,000 colleagues and 50+ energy sites while maintaining security, near-zero downtime, and digital agility across every business unit.  Designing for transformation, not just uptime: Guiding SD-WAN, SASE, Zero Trust, and hyper-converged architecture implementation.
• Leading across internal and external teams: Advising SRE, DevOps, and cybersecurity squads while managing strategic supplier relationships. 
• Simplifying the complex Embedding fault tolerance, clear governance, and disaster recovery into every layer of the network. 
• Shaping what’s next: Driving intent-based networking, AI/ML observability, and automation in our evolving infrastructure.

You’ll join Eneco’s Digital & Tech domain, where you help enable smart solar forecasting, real-time trading, and autonomous energy operations. We work hybrid from our Rotterdam HQ, with the flexibility to shape where and how you work best.
