The world of energy is changing rapidly. As a leader in the energy transition, Eneco develops new ways to generate, store and manage sustainable energy. This requires a trading organization that is accurate, fast and fully in control.
Eneco Energy Trade (EET) is at the heart of this. It manages all commodity positions and connects trading activities to financial outcomes. In this environment, your role is crucial. You ensure that transactions are correct, cash flows are controlled and risks are managed.
You work in a company that is large enough to make real impact, while being part of a team where people know each other and work closely together. You are trusted to take ownership, bring ideas and continuously improve our way of working. At the same time, you directly contribute to Eneco’s ambition to become climate neutral by 2035.
As a Trade Back Office Specialist, you ensure that energy trading activities are processed accurately from start to finish. You manage the full lifecycle of trades, from contract setup to financial settlement, while maintaining control over data quality and compliance. You work closely with traders, finance and other internal stakeholders to make sure transactions are correctly reflected in the financial administration and that cash flows are monitored and reconciled.
In your day-to-day work, you handle complex contracts, confirm trades, register costs and revenues, and monitor incoming and outgoing payments. At the same time, you keep a strong overview of processes and identify where improvements can be made. Because the environment is constantly changing, with increasing automation and new products, you play an active role in optimizing workflows and strengthening controls. In doing so, you help ensure that the back office remains reliable, efficient and future proof.
You are structured, analytical and comfortable in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly. You take ownership of your work and understand the importance of accuracy and control in a trading environment. At the same time, you collaborate easily with others and communicate clearly with different stakeholders.
You also bring:
You will join the Trade Back Office team within Eneco Energy Trade, consisting of around 8 professionals with different areas of expertise.
The team works closely together and has a central role in the financial processing of trading activities. This means you interact frequently with traders, finance and other departments across Eneco. Everyone takes ownership of their domain, while also contributing to team-wide improvements and projects.
The environment is dynamic and constantly evolving. No two days are the same, and you are continuously challenged to improve processes while maintaining high standards in quality and control.
