Move beyond dashboards into real impact
End-to-end ownership in a high-impact domain
Turn complex financial operations into trusted data products
At Eneco, we're accelerating the energy transition through our One Planet Plan — with the ambition to be the first energy company to become climate-neutral by 2035. Data is at the heart of how we get there.
As a Data Analyst embedded in our FinOps domain, you sit where finance meets operations in Eneco Energy Trade. This is where settlement flows, certificate management, contract and master data, and back-office processes intersect — and where good data work has immediate, visible business impact.
You won't be a reporting function. You'll be a critical thinking partner for the people running these processes every day: spotting where data is missing, where definitions are inconsistent, where manual workarounds have crept in — and building the analytical foundation to fix that, for good.
FinOps runs some of Eneco's most operationally complex data flows. There's real analytical work to be done here: processes that need rethinking, metrics that need defining from scratch, and a team that's genuinely open to doing things differently.
You'll be fully embedded in a product team alongside a Product Manager and engineers — working in agile sprints, owning your own backlog, and shipping analytical work that has a real shelf life. Your work lives in dbt, not in spreadsheets.
You're genuinely curious about how things work — and equally curious about why they don't. You get energy from understanding a broken process end-to-end and building something better. You don't wait to be handed a question; you go find it.
You're comfortable in ambiguity. FinOps is not a domain where everything is already defined — you'll need to create structure where there isn't any, and bring stakeholders along with you.
You also have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Business Analytics, or similar)
Strong SQL skills — you model data, not just query it
Hands-on experience with dbt, or a clear understanding of why business logic belongs in the transformation layer, not the visualisation layer
Experience with Power BI or comparable dashboarding tools, and a view on what makes a dashboard actually useful
Familiarity with cloud data platforms — Snowflake or similar
The ability to go from a messy stakeholder conversation to a well-scoped analytical deliverable
Strong communication skills: you can explain your findings to a finance manager and a data engineer in the same week, and adjust how you do it
Affinity with financial or operational domains — energy trade, settlement, or back-office processes is a genuine plus
Experience with Streamlit or lightweight app development is a plus. An interest in where AI-assisted tooling is heading is welcome — we're exploring it too.
Investigate gaps in current financial and operational processes, and translate what you find into clear, data-driven recommendations
Define and build metrics, KPI frameworks, and dbt models that become the single source of truth for FinOps domains — from settlement performance to certificate flows
Own the semantic layer for your domain: business logic in code, version-controlled, auditable, and reusable
Build dashboards in Power BI that read from your certified semantic layer — not the other way around
Work with Streamlit to create lightweight internal tools that remove manual work and give operational teams direct access to reliable data
Partner closely with Data Engineers on the handoff between certified data products and business-ready models — you understand both sides of that boundary
Bring proactive insight to the product roadmap: surface patterns, flag anomalies, propose experiments
Champion a shift-left mindset in everything you build — transparent, testable, reproducible
