SAP Lead support functions

As SAP Support Functions Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of SAP solutions supporting Eneco’s Support Functions capability. 

• You define the functional direction, ensure operational excellence and enable cross-domain collaboration across the SAP landscape.
• You work hands-on with your team and key stakeholders to ensure SAP solutions are consistent, controlled and future-ready.
• You will lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately seven SAP functional engineers and collaborate closely with the SAP Platform Owner, Domain Architects and the SAP Support Functions team.

This role combines functional expertise, delivery leadership, coaching and strategic alignment, with a strong focus on preparing Eneco for an S/4HANA clean-core future.

• You are an experienced SAP professional with strong leadership instincts. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of business, technology and people.
• You balance operational stability with long-term system integrity, remain calm in complex environments and collaborate easily across teams and suppliers.
• A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance or a related field.
• Strong hands-on SAP FI experience and solid understanding of GRC, HR, Logistics and technical maintenance.
• Experience leading SAP functional consultants or mixed delivery teams.
• Experience with incident management, testing practices, release cycles and SLA-driven environments.
• Experience with SAP upgrades and outages is a plus.
• The ability to challenge vendors and ensure accountability.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, business and leadership stakeholders.

Delivery leadership

• Owning SAP delivery across Support Functions modules including FICO, GRC, MM, SD, Ariba and SuccessFactors.
• Leading a team of SAP functional engineers focused on standard configuration and controlled change.
• Managing cross-module impact, dependencies, scope, quality and timelines.
• Coordinating with SAP Development and Product Management when integrations or customization are required.

Operational coordination and stakeholders

• Acting as the primary operational contact for SAP delivery within your scope.
• Overseeing incident, change and problem management across SAP modules.
• Monitoring SLA performance with internal teams and external partners.
• Aligning functional delivery with platform lifecycle events and maintenance.

Continuous improvement and transformation

• Contributing to Eneco’s S/4HANA clean-core strategy for Support Functions.
• Driving process improvements, automation and SAP standardization.
• Reducing unnecessary customizations and promoting best practices.

Team leadership

• Leading, coaching and developing SAP functional engineers.
• Hiring, onboarding and setting clear priorities across modules.
• Ensuring consistent configuration quality and operational stability.

You will work in our tech department together with engineers, data analists and business owners. Your role aligns closely with the SAP Support Functions Lead and other Domain Leads to ensure cohesive and scalable SAP delivery. We work via a hybrid model in our office in Rotterdam, with autonomy in how and where you create impact.
