SAP Development Team Lead

Apply
  • Lead Eneco’s core SAP engineering capability powering Finance, HR, and Asset Operations.

  • Combine hands-on development in ABAP and SAP BTP Build with strategic platform leadership.

  • Be part of Eneco’s clean core journey towards SAP S/4HANA — building the digital backbone of the energy transition.

Why choose Eneco?

At Eneco, we’re building the energy company of the future — one that’s climate neutral by 2035. Our One Planet Plan drives radical electrification, the phase-out of fossil fuels, and smarter digital systems to accelerate the energy transition.

Your work as SAP Development Team Lead will directly contribute to this mission — enabling stable, modern systems that keep the energy ecosystem running efficiently and sustainably.

What you’ll do

At Eneco, technology drives the energy transition — and SAP sits at the heart of that mission.
As SAP Development Team Lead, you’ll guide a shared engineering team (~5 engineers) that delivers the technical foundation for our SAP landscape.

You’ll lead the build and improvement of SAP application logic, integrations, workflows, and Fiori interfaces that support critical business processes — from Finance and Procurement to Asset Management. Together with internal engineers and external partners, you’ll ensure our SAP platform remains scalable, secure, and ready for the future.

Your leadership will be essential in preparing for Eneco’s upcoming SAP S/4HANA clean core transformation, shaping a maintainable, future-proof architecture that supports both innovation and stability.

You’ll collaborate closely with the SAP Platform Owner (responsible for lifecycle and upgrade planning) and coordinate external developers to ensure every deployment is smooth, reliable, and compliant with Eneco’s architectural standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll actively guide your team in ABAP and SAP BTP Build (with working knowledge of SAP CPI), setting the bar for quality and consistency across all SAP development streams.

Is this about you?

You’re an experienced SAP engineer with leadership instincts — someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, process, and people.
You can balance delivery pressure with long-term platform integrity, guiding others while keeping a clear technical overview.
You bring both hands-on expertise and a collaborative mindset, working naturally across teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for

• Leading and developing a shared SAP core engineering team (~5 engineers).
• Coordinating external build partners and aligning deliverables with SAP Platform and Product Owners.
• Delivering maintainable SAP enhancements, integrations, workflows, and Fiori/UI improvements.
• Supporting lifecycle and ALM activities by preparing technical adjustments and deployment readiness.
• Ensuring coding consistency, testing discipline, and documentation across SAP product streams.
• Acting as technical mentor and quality gatekeeper for SAP development best practices.
• Collaborating with Product Managers, Domain Architects, and Solution Consultants to align priorities and architecture.

This is where you’ll work

  • Hands-on capability in ABAP and SAP BTP Build (SAP CPI experience is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of SAP’s role in Finance, Procurement, HR, and Asset Management processes.
  • Proven experience leading small engineering teams or technical streams.
  • Strong coordination skills with external partners and vendors.
  • A structured and pragmatic mindset — balancing quality, performance, and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across multiple domains.
  • Experience contributing to SAP modernization or S/4HANA initiatives is a plus.
