Why choose Eneco?

At Eneco, we are committed to becoming climate neutral by 2035. Our One Planet strategy is backed by smart digital solutions and innovative technologies. Our VPP teams play a crucial role in enabling trading and operational success, ensuring reliable and optimized energy delivery 24/7. The Behind The Meter (BTM) B2B team is responsible for highly scalable solutions that optimize energy flexibility for our B2B customers across all countries—including assets like large batteries and rooftop solar installations. The Aggregation Team brings these distributed assets together into a unified pool, integrating them into the Virtual Power Plant so that smaller assets can participate in the energy market as part of Eneco's portfolio.

What you’ll do

As a .NET/C# Engineer, you will play a key role in building and enhancing the systems that optimize B2B assets behind the meter and aggregate them into Eneco's Virtual Power Plant (VPP: BTM/Aggregation). You'll help develop the platforms that enable our customers' assets to participate in energy markets as part of a larger, coordinated portfolio.

Your focus will be on building scalable and reliable backend solutions, integrating various systems and data flows that connect distributed assets to our VPP infrastructure.

You'll work in a cross-functional product team using a modern stack: .NET/C#, Azure, Kafka, Azure DevOps, Terraform and more.

Is this about you?

  • Solid experience with .NET/C# and backend development
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and microservices
  • Based in the Netherlands and fluent in English
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across disciplines

Bonus points for

  • Experience in designing and implementing event-driven architectures
  • Deep knowledge of Azure cloud observability tools and services
  • Knowledge of energy management, optimization systems, or energy markets
  • Experience building aggregation or portfolio management platforms

You’ll be responsible for

  • Develop and maintain backend services and integrations in .NET/C#
  • Build and maintain solutions that optimize B2B assets (batteries, rooftop solar, and other behind-the-meter installations)
  • Develop aggregation services that pool distributed assets and integrate them into the VPP
  • Enable smaller assets to participate in energy markets as part of Eneco's portfolio
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with other .NET developers, testers, and product managers
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of our digital solutions

This is where you’ll work

You will join the BTM B2B team and the Eneco Aggregation Team, collaborating with other cross-functional product teams. Your work will directly support Eneco's mission to integrate distributed energy assets into our portfolio and long-term sustainability goals.
