UMAX365 is a key part of that backbone. As part of the Delivery & Billing team, you help enhance and stabilise the processes that serve thousands of business customers across the Netherlands.

What you’ll do

As a Utility Billing Platform Engineer (UMAX365), you configure, optimise, and extend UMAX365 to support Eneco’s B2B contract, billing, and metering processes. You work closely with product management, developers, billing operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, reliable platform solutions.

You bring structure, ownership, and a solution-oriented mindset to a domain where accuracy and stability are essential.

Is this about you?

  • Experience with D365 F&O concepts such as data entities, batch jobs, integrations, and posting flows.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into UMAX365 configurations and testable functional designs.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in high-volume or regulated environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UMAX365 or another utility billing or meter-to-cash platform (SAP IS-U, Oracle Utilities, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of billing cycles, tariffs, metering data, contract structures, or energy-market processes.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, LCS, or similar platform-engineering tools.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation within the UMAX or D365 ecosystem.
  • Experience in the energy or utilities sector (supplier, DSO, B2B energy services).
  • Affinity with data quality, validation, and reconciliation processes.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Configuring and maintaining UMAX365 modules across contract management, pricing, metering, and billing.
  • Designing and executing billing scenarios, tariff configurations, and end-to-end meter-to-cash process changes.
  • Supporting integrations with DSO systems, metering platforms, CRM, and Dynamics 365 Finance.
  • Managing UMAX batch jobs, monitoring billing performance, and resolving operational incidents.
  • Creating functional specifications for enhancements, extensions, and new features in collaboration with development teams.
  • Translating business requirements into platform-aligned UMAX configurations and testable solutions.
  • Troubleshooting UMAX-D365 interactions, data issues, and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Maintaining clear documentation and contributing to UMAX release planning, regression testing, and continuous improvement.

This is where you’ll work

You’ll join the Enterprise Platform Solutions team within Digital & Tech. The team consists of platform engineers, functional consultants, and product specialists working together to build, stabilise, and scale the systems behind our B2B energy propositions.

Work hybrid: focus days at home, collaboration days at the Rotterdam headquarters. For this position it's important to work and live in The Netherlands already. 

Depending on your knowledge, experience, and skill set, this role can be positioned at different levels within our job and salary framework.

Hybrid working: home, office or abroad

Work 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.
