    • Real development work with lasting impact

You will contribute to a live re-implementation and then continue developing and maintaining the platform alongside the platform owners. Your work does not disappear after go-live - it stays in production and evolves with the organisation.

    • OOTB is the mandate, not the compromise

At too many organisations, OOTB is the goal at kickoff and the casualty by week three. At Eneco it is a governance requirement. You will have the authority - and the expectation - to push back on demand that does not belong in the platform.

    • Your development is part of the deal

If you do not yet hold a Performance Analytics (PA) certification, Eneco will sponsor it. We are investing in the platform for the long term, which means investing in the people who develop it.

Why choose Eneco?

Eneco is one of Europe's leading sustainable energy companies, working toward climate neutrality by 2035. We offer a competitive salary, FlexBudget for flexible benefits, 8% holiday allowance, and a hybrid working arrangement - 2 days per week in our Rotterdam office with 2-3 weeks per year fully remote.

What you’ll do

Platform Development and Re-implementation

  • Design, configure, and build ServiceNow solutions aligned to OOTB principles across assigned re-implementation workstreams

  • Configure and extend core IT Service Management (ITSM) applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, Configuration Management Database (CMDB)) plus applicable IT Operations Management (ITOM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), and Application Development capabilities

  • Build and maintain integrations using IntegrationHub and Representational State Transfer (REST) / Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) APIs

  • Ensure all decisions are traceable to governance and compliance requirements and produce clear technical design documentation

Platform Development and Maintenance

  • Contribute to ongoing development, configuration, and defect resolution working closely with the platform owners

  • Support platform release and upgrade cycles including family upgrades, patching, and regression testing

  • Support demand intake from IT, OT, and HR domains, assessing feasibility against OOTB governance

  • Monitor platform performance, security configuration, and CMDB data quality

OOTB Governance

  • Actively prevent customisation creep - challenge and redirect demand toward OOTB-aligned solutions

  • Articulate trade-offs clearly when customisation is genuinely required

  • Maintain strict auditability across all configuration and design decisions

SIAM and Major Incident Management

  • As a member of the broader Service Integration and Management (SIAM) team, you will participate in the shared 24/7 Major Incident Management (MIM) standby rotation - one week at a time, shared equally across the full SIAM team regardless of role

  • Support the facilitation and resolution of Major Incidents when on standby duty

  • Coordinate technical delivery across multiple service towers and vendors within the SIAM governance framework

Team and Knowledge Sharing

  • Support and mentor junior developers or administrators on the platform team

  • Translate technical decisions for business stakeholders across IT, OT, and HR domains

Is this about you?

You are a ServiceNow developer who thinks OOTB first. You have delivered real implementations - not just administered existing instances - and you know the difference between configuration and customisation. You are comfortable pushing back when someone wants to cross that line. You may be working at a system integrator right now, delivering for clients you will never see after go-live. Or you are in a large organisation where the platform is already someone else's problem. Either way, you are ready to work in a focused team where quality and governance are taken seriously, and where your development work has real, long-term impact.

You Bring :

Experience

  • 5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow development - not configuration only

  • Experience in a platform re-implementation, migration, or consolidation project

  • Scripting experience: JavaScript, GlideScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies/Actions

  • Flow Designer, IntegrationHub spokes, and REST/SOAP integrations

  • CMDB data model, Discovery, and/or Service Mapping experience

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of core ITSM modules - Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, CMDB

  • ITOM, HRSD, or CAD (Certified Application Developer) knowledge is a strong plus

  • SIAM or multi-vendor service integration experience is an advantage

  • Performance Analytics experience is a strong plus - Eneco will sponsor your PA certification if you do not yet hold it

Skills and Competencies

  • OOTB discipline - you default to configuration and can articulate the trade-off when customisation is genuinely needed

  • Clear communicator across technical and business stakeholders

  • Structured documentation habits even in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

  • Strong sense of ownership over code quality, data integrity, and platform stability

Certifications

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) - required

  • Certified Implementation Specialist - ITSM (CIS-ITSM) - required; CIS - HR Service Delivery (CIS-HRSD), CAD, and CIS - Configuration Management Database / Common Service Data Model (CIS-CMDB/CSDM) are strong additions

  • Performance Analytics (PA) - strong advantage; Eneco sponsors this certification

  • ITIL Foundation v4 - preferred, not mandatory

This is where you’ll work

You will be part of the Enterprise IT Solutions team, embedded in a small ServiceNow platform team spanning IT, OT, and HR. Your stakeholders are service managers and business partners across those domains, plus the SIAM governance layer coordinating delivery across multiple vendors. The team works in an agile way - structured enough to deliver a complex re-implementation, flexible enough to respond to a live transformation. You will have direct access to the people who make decisions, and your technical input will shape the platform for years to come.
