Why choose Eneco?

At Eneco, everyone works toward the same mission: climate neutrality in 2035. No empty sustainability talk, just action. We help consumers and businesses switch to sustainable energy. Not by telling them they must, but by showing them what’s possible.That’s how Eneco enlightens. By sharing knowledge. By providing insights. By making energy so clear that the choice becomes obvious. Simple instead of complicated.

What you’ll do

Eneco is charting an ambitious growth path in the energy transition space, whilst navigating volatile and turbulent energy markets. That calls for clear short- and long-term priorities, and the ability to execute them. The Strategy team works with Eneco’s leadership to develop clear and coherent strategies, grounded in insights, translated into actionable plans. The  Senior Strategy Advisor leads high-priority topics end to end: running analyses, aligning stakeholders and formulating recommendations with direct exposure to the Management Board and Directors. Your work defines Eneco’s growth and transformation agenda and contributes to a sustainable future.

Is this about you?

You combine sharp analysis with clear communication, and you enjoy working with senior stakeholders. You take ownership, collaborate naturally, and help teams move from discussion to decisions and delivery. You also bring:

  • An MSc/MA (university level), with strong academic performance;
  • At least 3 years of experience in strategy consulting at a top-tier firm;
  • Excellent analytical skills, including financial modelling experience;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including building and delivering senior-ready presentations;
  • Strong stakeholder skills: organizational sensitivity, persuasiveness and execution power;
  • A strong drive to contribute to the energy transition; experience in the energy sector is a plus;
  • Full professional proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Shape and sharpen corporate and business strategy across value chains and verticals, incl. developing growth strategies, identifying ways to improve our existing business, and understanding macroeconomic impacts on Eneco;
  • Build the fact base: conduct market analyses, identify opportunities, develop business cases and financial models, and translate findings into clear recommendations;
  • Advise Management Teams, Directors and the Management Board, creating crisp materials and aligning stakeholders on key decisions;
  • Lead workstreams or end-to-end projects (depending on scope), collaborating across Eneco, with coaching from experienced team members, the Head of Strategy and Director of Strategic Growth and Transformation, enabling you to grow in your role as an advisor

This is where you’ll work

You will be part of the Strategy team, a small group of experienced strategy advisors, and report to the Head of Strategy. The Strategy team is part of the wider Strategic Growth & Transformation team, which also includes colleagues who work on change management, M&A and venturing, business development and sustainability.

You will have a flexible workspace at our modern, bright headquarters in Rotterdam. You can walk from Rotterdam Alexander station to your desk in just a few minutes. At Eneco, we have a hybrid working policy, meaning you work partly from home.

Do you feel at home among colleagues who are bursting with ambition, take good care of each other and want to go full speed ahead to achieve our climate ambitions? If so, you'll fit in at Eneco.
