Impact
Protect the operational technology that powers Eneco’s renewable energy assets and directly supports the energy transition.
Complexity & Ownership
Operate at the intersection of OT, cyber security, and senior leadership, with responsibility for risk visibility across critical energy domains.
Influence & Trust
Act as the primary OT security counterpart for value chain leadership and the Management Board.
Eneco is committed to accelerating the energy transition through its One Planet Plan, with the ambition to be climate neutral by 2035. Digital and technology play a critical role in achieving this goal, and cyber security is a key enabler in protecting Eneco’s assets, customers, and society at large.
At Eneco, you contribute to meaningful, large-scale impact while working in an organisation that values responsibility, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Eneco’s operational technology (OT) landscape is at the heart of its energy production, flexibility, and heat domains. As Senior OT Security Manager, you play a key role in ensuring these critical assets are protected against evolving cyber threats.
You operate as a senior, trusted security partner to the business, working closely with subject matter experts within Eneco’s value chains. You translate complex OT risks into clear security insights and ensure transparency at leadership level, including reporting to the Management Board.
In this role, you help shape how OT cyber security is governed, monitored, and continuously improved, while ensuring alignment with Eneco’s broader security and compliance strategy.
You are a senior security professional who feels comfortable operating in complex, business-critical environments. You enjoy working at the interface between technology, risk, and leadership, and you know how to translate technical realities into clear insights for decision-makers.
You take ownership naturally, build trust with stakeholders, and understand that strong security is about enablement as much as protection. You are confident engaging with senior leaders, while staying close to the technical reality of OT environments.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of thinking in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, IT Audit, or a related field
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in IT security, IT risk management, or a comparable security role
Proven experience in senior stakeholder management, security consultancy, and executive-level reporting
Strong ability to translate regulations and standards into actionable security controls and monitoring practices
Solid knowledge of OT security concepts and architectures (e.g. Purdue model, network segmentation, IoT)
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC) are considered a strong plus
Owning the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cyber security risks within the OT domain
Acting as the primary security contact for OT-related value chains (including Renewable Power, Flex, and Heat)
Translating OT and project-related risks into pragmatic security measures and tracking their implementation
Overseeing OT-related security initiatives and ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards
Providing clear, transparent reporting on OT security posture to senior management and the Management Board
You will join the IT Security, Risk & Compliance team within Eneco’s Tech organisation. This first-line security team supports Eneco’s value chains and verticals in identifying and mitigating cyber security risks, while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
The team works closely with operational and digital domains across Eneco, in a hybrid setup combining collaboration at the Rotterdam HQ with flexible remote working.
