This is where you’ll work

Strategic portfolio management is a team in the Eneco energy trade department that helps Eneco take decisions based on predicted future movements and developments in the energy market. Three fundamental themes can be distinguished, and as data engineer you will work on all three.

  1. Energy system outlook: Maintain and update a forward-looking view of energy system developments through structured data products.

  1. Pricing & valuation: Translate price and volume outlooks into inputs for generic portfolio pricing and valuation. Deliver insights and process recommendations to improve consistency and efficiency, excluding implementation.

  1. Integral portfolio management: Integrate pricing and valuation analysis with a portfolio view to assess total risk and value impacts. The integral portfolio model (IPM) is the model used by Eneco to optimize its combined portfolios—such as wind, gas, and customer contracts—against market and price fluctuations.

As a data engineer, you’ll help these themes by automating workflows, developing the codebase, ensuring code and output quality, and upskilling the team in engineering principles.
