To support these ambitions, we are looking for an Operational Technology (OT) Expert who can strengthen our teams across the entire OT landscape. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architecture, asset realization teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to help us achieve our sustainability goals.

What you’ll do

You will engage with stakeholders to understand KPIs and functional requirements, then translate these into clear technical specifications for implementation. Our aim is to elevate our OT environment to the next level, covering SCADA systems, PLCs, OT networks, and associated applications and data platforms across multiple production sites. Security is a top priority, as we operate in the domain of mission-critical infrastructure.

We are seeking someone with deep technical expertise in OT control systems and infrastructure, from field devices and control layers to centralized solutions for asset steering, monitoring, and optimization. You should be able to anticipate risks, understand challenges from both OT and IT perspectives, and deliver safe, scalable, and future-proof solutions.

Beyond technical depth, strong communication skills are essential. You will need to influence colleagues and suppliers, manage expectations proactively, and guide teams toward higher levels of maturity.

You will play a key role in applying IEC 62443 standards within our system architectures. From implementing security controls to guiding suppliers, you will ensure compliance throughout all phases of system development and lifecycle management.

Is this about you?

  • Master degree in industrial automation, electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent through experience
  • Minimum 8 years relevant work experience, preferably in mission critical environments
  • Proven experience in OT development methodologies and OT system, infrastructure and network architectures (including IEC 62264)
  • Deep knowledge of security concepts and relevant standards frameworks (ISO 27001, IEC 62443)
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models, including Data and Analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience and knowledge within the renewable energy industry is preferred, but not required

You’ll be responsible for

  • As an expert, lead the development of SCADA/PLC systems and related software (HMI, SCADA,  Historian, MES) at different locations
  • As an expert, lead the development and improvement of OT infrastructure and networks
  • Security implementation - Rolling out ISO 27001 & IEC 62443 standards together with Security & Compliance
  • Vendor management - Developing system designs and guiding suppliers with technical and policy requirements
  • Documentation excellence - Keeping technical documentation, network drawings and asset lists up-to-date
  • Bridge building - Connecting OT teams, IT teams and asset development teams through knowledge sharing and mutual understanding
  • Support technical skill development of team members through training and coaching
  • Contribute to the development of standard and practices for the OT domain
  • Communicate standards, practices and security policies and defend these internally to higher management and explain this externally, if necessary

Hybrid working: home, office or abroad

Work 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.
